my art is poetry. when i write a poem a feel as if im making a small gift of myself to the world in the form of a small moment or sentiment expressed through words. in my poetry, the elements of aesthetic and romance as well as enchantment, disillusion and disenchantment are very important. I tend to express my projected emotions to an individual character in my poetry, which may or may not be auto-biographical. nevertheless, i feel like each poem is a minor piece of my soul given freely, to be consumed, digested and responded too. i appreciate those who appreciate poetry, especially if it is amateur work like mine. there's nothing I love more than a poem that makes an impression on me by leaving an atmosphere, an image or a longing in my soul; that is the true measure of a poem's words.

in other news:
this week i had the amazing oppurtunity of being graced with the presence of Elie Wiesel when I saw him speak at the Phillips Center. For those of you who don't know about him, he is a humanitarian and holocaust survivor who won the nobel prize for peace and wrote the amazing account of his life during the holocaust in the book Night. I admire this amazing soul and man of character and conviction with all my heart. He radiates kindness and wisdom and sent a message of RESPECT for everyone (not just tolerance) and courage to ACT (don't be indifferent) to fight hate and injustice. I wish to live in his example. PEACE!


Also..Am going back to Florida for Spring Break..sooooooooooooooo excited!!! Im gonna get to see my family again! then head south for Miami, then go camping!!! yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
